Moment Analysis for Modeling Soil Water Distribution in Furrow Irrigation: Variable vs. Constant Ponding Depths

چکیده
Despite increasing use of pressurized irrigation methods, most projects worldwide still involve surface systems. Accurate estimation the amount infiltrating water and its spatial distribution in soil is great importance design management furrow Moment analysis has previously been applied to describe subsurface using input data from numerical simulations rather than field measured data, assuming a constant ponding depth furrow. A experiment was conducted blocked-end level at Maricopa Agricultural Center, Arizona, USA, study effect time-variable depths on resulting wetting bulb under real conditions moment analysis. The simulated volumetric contents run with variable (average) HYDRUS 2D/3D were almost identical, both compared favorably data. Hence, only used calculate moments. It concluded that fluctuating flow had no significant influence time-evolving ellipses. This related negligible 10-cm variation high negative matric potential unsaturated soil.

Soil Phosphorus Dynamics under Sprinkler and Furrow Irrigation
Furrow irrigation detaches and transports soil particles and subsequently nutrients such as phosphorus (P). To reduce the risk of erosion and offsite P movement, producers can convert from furrow to sprinkler irrigation. We completed research on soil P dynamics in furrow versus sprinkler irrigated soils from four paired fields in south central Idaho. Surface soils (0-2.5 inches) were obtained f...
متن کاملScenario Studies on Effects of Soil Infiltration Rates, Land Slope, and Furrow Irrigation Characteristics on Furrow Irrigation-Induced Erosion
Furrow irrigation proceeds under several soil-water-furrow hydraulics interaction dynamics. The soil erosion consequences from such interactions in furrow irrigation in Samaru had remained uncertain. A furrow irrigation-induced erosion (FIIE) model was used to simulate the potential severity of soil erosion in irrigated furrows due to interactive effects of infiltration rates, land slope, and s...

A change in infiltration rate a...
متن کاملthe effectiveness of variable and constant wetted perimeter on simulation and uniformity of furrow irrigation
infiltration in furrow irrigation is 2-d which depends on both time and surface characteristics at which infiltration occurs. however, in many furrow irrigation models, infiltration is determined as a function of infiltration time opportunity, assuming the variation of weted perimeter is low along furrow. in order to compare the proposed asumptions, two zero-inertia furrow irrigation models wer...

Current study was carried out with aim to evaluate the effect of pressurized irrigation methods and furrow irrigation method with municipal effluent on distribution of salinity and moisture in the soil profile. The experimental study was designed by split plot layout with three irrigation methods including furrow, surface drip (SD) irrigation and subsurface drip irrigation (SSD) and two water q...
